Fluoride treatment in drinking water

I strongly disagree with the Assistant Professor of Allied Health at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks and Anchorage, regarding a My Turn in the Sunday, Feb. 11 Juneau Empire that endorses what amounts to forced participation by an entire population of the City and Borough of Juneau in a fluoride treatment program. Said plainly, no one individual has the right to literally force all of us to drink fluoride. We all need water. We all do not need fluoride along with it! But if you truly believe you do, then have your health care provider give you a special toothpaste that simply contains an extra dose of fluoride. That’s what I’ve been doing and that appears to work for me.
