Juneau Trail and Road Runners recognize Cup winners

The Juneau Trail and Road Runners held its annual potluck and awards ceremony Saturday night at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center.

The top-three Nugget Alaskan Outfitter Cup scorers in all 12 age groups were awarded with ribbons.

All runners in NAO Cup races are automatically awarded one point. Those who finish in the top-10 receive up to 10 points. In addition, 10 points are awarded to each race director.

Of the 24 first-place men and women cup finishers, Gus Marx in the men’s 45-49 age group amassed the most points overall at 209.

Alyssa Hobbs (182 points) was second and Nancy Jones (177 points) was third.

About 60 people attended the event; many of the awardees were not present.

May 12 — The Cameron Clark Memorial Run, 9 a.m., 5K and 1K, Lena Beach Picnic Area

May 19 — Spring Tide Scramble, 10 a.m., 3 Mile or 7 Mile, Fish Creek Bridge (North Douglas Highway)

May 26 — Seacoast Relay, 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., start at UAS and finish at Eagle Beach

June 2 — Perseverance Trail Run/Ben Blackgoat Memorial, 9 a.m., 2, 4, or 7 Miles, End of Basin Road

June 9 — Wild for Conservation 5K, 9 a.m., Airport Dike Trail

June 14 (Thursday) — East Glacier Trail Tangle, 6 p.m., 1 mile and 6.7 mile, trailhead at east end of Valley Boulevard

June 23 — Only Fools Run at Midnight, 11:59 p.m., 5k/1 Mile Run/Walk/Wheelchair, Centennial Hall

June 30 — Eaglecrest Road Race, 9 a.m., 9, 5 and 1 mile

July 4 (Tuesday) — Glenn Frick Memorial Mile, JRC/Alaska Club parking lot, 1 Mile run along the Parade Route

July 7 — McDowell Group Governor’s Cup 5k and Kid’s 1 Mile, 9 a.m., Dimond Courthouse
