High winds halt ferry sailings between Homer, Kodiak

JUNEAU — The state transportation department says sailings of the state ferry Tustumena between Homer and Kodiak have been canceled, with forecasts calling for hurricane force winds.

In a release, the department says the Tuesday and Wednesday sailings between the cities have been canceled. It says the ferry still will sail between Homer and Seldovia.

The Tustumena is expected to sail from Homer to Kodiak on Thursday.
