A Juneau Boy Scout visualized and completed a project replacing the American Legion sign outside Auke Bay Post 25 as part of the requirements to attain his Eagle Scout rank.

Kristofer Ely approached the American Legion last year with the project idea, said post commander Tom Dawson in an email. Ely planned and fundraised for the project before replacing the old sign with the new one.

“A welcome and professional addition to the Legion Post; a job well done,” Dawson said in an email.

Eagle Scout projects require the Scout to plan, organize, fundraise and execute a project serving the community.
