Two men were arrested in connection a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle at the Douglas Breeze In Monday night, police say.

Geoffrey M. Alter, 47, and Dylan K. Fears, 21, were arrested for felony vehicle theft and taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center, said Juneau Police Department Public Safety Manager Erann Kalwara by phone Tuesday. Alter was also charged with violating conditions of release.

Kalwara said a police dispatcher was advised by a caller that they had located a stolen truck — an older-model Chevrolet — and was following it. The vehicle was reported stolen from Aurora Harbor Sunday night. JPD officers performed a traffic stop on the vehicle in the Breeze In parking lot at roughly 4:30 p.m.

There were two other passengers in the vehicle in addition to the Alter and Fears, Kalwara said. They are not facing charges at this time.
