Juneau-Douglas High School junior soccer player Malia Miller is the Juneau Empire’s player of the week.

Miller scored five goals over the weekend in 8-0 and 9-0 girls soccer wins over Ketchikan High School.

The forward’s 40 career goals put her ahead of all but four others in program history: Margaret Sekona (94), Sarah Tarver (60), Kiersten Smith (53) and Sarah Christensen (45).

JDHS plays West Anchorage High School at Adair-Kennedy Memorial Field next Thursday at 5 p.m.
