Juneau grapplers head to state

Nine Juneau grapplers will take to the state mats today in hopes of championship gold and a permanent place in the annals of Alaska wrestling history.

Six Thunder Mountain wrestlers and three from Juneau-Douglas will compete in the ASAA/First National Bank Alaska 2015 Wrestling State Championships held at Bartlett and Chugiak high schools.

Competing for TMHS are: Connor Norman (98 pounds), Caleb Deer (113 pounds), Sam Nolan (145 pounds), Hunter Boyer (152 pounds), Alex Ocana (160 pounds), and Tyler Cole (170 pounds).

Representing JDHS are: Tucker Joeright (138 pounds), Seth Machakos (170 pounds), and Cody Weldon (195 pounds).
