Juneau-Douglas High School senior Erik Kelly is the Juneau Empire’s player of the week.
The 6-foot-5, 210-pound forward led the boys basketball team to a 2-1 Alaska Prep Shootout record at Dimond High School. In games with Barrow, Mt. Edgecumbe and Soldotna, Kelly averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds and received a nod on the all-tournament team.
Kelly and the Crimson Bears return to action Jan. 25-27 at the Whaler Invitational in Barrow.
