The Thunder Mountain High School softball gave up a 5-0 lead against Ketchikan High School on Friday, falling to the Lady Kings after a furious rally in the last two innings to overtake the Falcons 6-5.

The game remained a stalemate until the 5th inning, the only inning with any scoring for either team. Thunder Mountain sophomore Maximina Seceda-Hurt opened scoring when she popped a fly ball to center field on which senior Taylor Beardslee scored. Sophomore Rachel Macauley scored next, making it 2-0, then senior Michaela Harp hit a doubled to right field for two RBIs. Senior Tracy Bourassa doubled on a ground ball before the fifth inning closed, sending Harp home and earning TMHS’ a 5-0 lead.

Ketchikan then scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth, with runs coming off a triple, two doubles and a single.

The Falcons had eight hits to Kayhi’s 11.
