Election 2024: Watch the Juneau Municipal Candidate Forum for Mayor and Assembly

Eight candidates participate in one-hour forum Tuesday; school board candidate forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Eight of the nine candidates for Juneau Assembly and mayor in the Oct. 1 municipal election took part in a one-hour forum Tuesday night at the KTOO studio. Issues discussed included civic engagement, Bartlett Regional Hospital, tourism, flooding from Suicide Basin, renewable energy, and what level of municipal services should be funded.

The forum was sponsored by sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Juneau, the Juneau Empire and KTOO which broadcast the event live. A similar forum featuring Juneau Board Education candidates is scheduled at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
