Who’s Your Diva? Celia Montalto

JLO: What was your first memorable public performance?

CM: My elementary school talent show. I sang “Second Hand Doll” by Barbra Streisand.

 

JLO: Who are three singers who have influenced you throughout your singing career?

CM: Pink, Karen Carpenter and Amy Winehouse.

 

JLO: Who are local performers who inspire you?

CM: Susu and the Prophets.

 

JLO: What are three songs you absolutely love to sing?

CM: Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay, Folsom Prison Blues, and anything from the Broadway shows “Rent” or “Wicked.”

 

JLO: What is your favorite local role or performance?

CM: The cabaret workshop with Barney McClure.

 

JLO: What is your favorite place to sing (besides the stage)?

CM: Anywhere and everywhere!

 

 

JLO: What is a famous movie or theatre role you would love the chance to play?

CM: Galinda from “Wicked.”

 

JLO: What are some of your other interests besides singing?

CM: Crocheting, painting, DJing, hiking and cooking.
