Anchorage man shot after opening door to his home

ANCHORAGE — Authorities say a man was shot by a gunman after opening the door of his Anchorage home.

The Alaska Dispatch News reported that police still haven’t located the suspect following the Sunday afternoon shooting. The 23-year-old victim, who suffered a gunshot wound to his torso, was taken to a hospital to undergo surgery.

Anchorage Police Department spokeswoman Anita Shell says it is unclear whether the suspect and the victim knew each other.

The shooting continues to be investigated.
