Baseball and softball regional tournaments kick off Thursday

Region V tournaments for both baseball and softball will begin Thursday in Juneau and Sitka respectively as the school year winds down.

The regional tournament for baseball will be hosted in Sitka, and will start with Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé playing Ketchikan High School at 3 p.m., followed by Sitka High School playing Thunder Mountain High School at 6 p.m. The games will be streamed on the National Federation of State High Schools Associations website, NFHS.com.

Further games in the double-elimination bracket will be played on 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m. on Friday, with concluding games at 11 a.m. and possibly 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The softball tournament will be hosted by TMHS at Dimond Park Fields, beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday as JDHS goes against Sitka, followed by Kayhi and TMHS playing at 6 p.m. All games will be streamed on the TMHS Activities page at https://www.facebook.com/tmhsfalcons.

Further games in the double-elimination bracket will be played on 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m. on Friday, with concluding games at 11 a.m. and possibly 2 p.m. on Saturday.
