Player of the Week: Anna Iverson

She dropped her 5K time drastically.

Anna Iverson is the Juneau Empire’s player of the week.

Iverson, a senior on the Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaat.at Kalé cross country team, placed third in the Division I girls race at the Region V Cross Country Championships. Iverson’s time of 19 minutes, 10 seconds in Sitka was her personal best and almost a minute faster than her 5-kilometer mark a week earlier.

Teammates Skylar Tuckwood, Katie McKenna, Annika Schwartz and McKenna McNutt also ran personal bests in the race. The JDHS cross country team ran in the state meet Saturday. Check out JuneauEmpire.com for a race recap.
