Twin Lakes playground to close April 26

Twin Lakes playground will be closed while upgrades for ADA accessibility are installed throughout the playground. Construction will begin on Tuesday, April 26, and the playground should reopen May 31. This work is weather dependent, so it is possible that the closure may be extended. The Twin Lakes shelter will be available during this construction period.

Also, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation notified the City and Borough of Juneau that cleanup of a diesel spill has been completed and the lake can be reopened. On Feb. 3, the DEC told CBJ that a small quantity of diesel fuel from a nearby residential storage tank was discharged into the Twin Lakes Recreation area.
