JUNEAU — A judge is giving attorneys time to discuss a possible resolution in a case involving members of the family associated with the Discovery Channel reality show “Alaskan Bush People.”
During a brief hearing Thursday, Superior Court Judge Philip Pallenberg set another status hearing for Dec. 22.
Prosecutors last year accused Billy Brown, wife Amora, and four of the sons of applying for Alaska Permanent Fund Dividends to which they weren’t entitled.
Pallenberg dismissed the indictments against Billy and Amora Brown and said the state must decide whether to seek a new indictment. The sons are seeking to have the charges against them dismissed.
Pallenberg last month rejected plea agreements for Billy Brown and son Joshua, saying he thought the sentences should have involved jail time. Their pleas were withdrawn.
