Police seek masked liquor store robber

He wore a mask.

Juneau police are searching for a man suspected of using a crowbar to rob a liquor store on Friday night.

Police say a Liquor Barrel & Deli employee called 911 at about 11:53 p.m. after a masked man entered the store, refused to take off his mask and pulled out a crowbar from inside his coat and threateningly raised it. The suspect told the employee that they were robbing the store and chased the employee out of the store, which is located on the 5200 Block of Glacier Highway.

Video surveillance from the store shows the masked man prying open both cash registers and stealing an undisclosed amount of money before leaving, according to JPD.

The suspect is described as being between 5 foot 8 and 5 foot 10 tall and stocky, according to JPD. He was wearing what appeared to be a black hat with a white logo on the front, gray mask, brown coat over a red flannel shirt, jeans and black work boots.
