Police identify man killed during apparent home invasion

ANCHORAGE — Anchorage police say a man killed during an attempted home invasion Thursday was shot by a juvenile.

Police say 30-year-old Loren Douglas and at least one other unidentified person were apparently attempting to rob a home of drugs and money when Douglas was killed.

Police just after 4:30 a.m. took a call that a man had been shot during an attempted home invasion in neighborhood about a half mile east of Dimond High School. They found Douglas mortally wounded outside the home.

Three people inside the Orchard Place home were all under the age of 18. One called police after the shooting. Police say all three cooperated with investigators.

Police seized drugs inside the home.

Police say at least one person with Douglas may have suffered a head injury.
