Assault

At 9:04 p.m. on Thursday, a 46-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence- assault and taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center. Alcohol was a factor.

At 6:23 a.m. on Saturday, a 24-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence- assault and taken to LCCC. Alcohol was a factor.

Burglary

At 5:02 p.m. on Thursday, Juneau Police Department responded to a report of a business that had been burglarized in the 2000 block of Jordan Avenue.

Child abuse/neglect

At 4:28 p.m. on Thursday, JPD investigated a report of sexual assault.

At 2:27 p.m. on Friday, JPD investigated a report of child abuse or neglect.

Conditions violation

At 8:17 p.m. on Thursday, 39-year-old Matthew Charles was arrested for violating the conditions of release in the 8600 block of Teal Street and taken to LCCC. Alcohol was a factor.

Death

At 1 p.m. on Saturday, JPD investigated the death of a 38-year-old woman in the 4200 block of Mendenhall Loop Road. The death is not considered suspicious and the next of kin have been notified.

At 1:28 p.m. on Saturday, JPD investigated the death of a 60-year-old man in the 9300 block of Glacier Highway. The death is not considered suspicious and next of kind have been notified.

Disabled vehicle

At 10:54 p.m. on Friday, a 2006 Chevy Avalanche in the 3200 block of Egan Drive was impounded.

Disturbance

At 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, a 22-year-old woman was arrested for misconduct.

Driving while intoxicated

At 10:53 a.m. on Friday, 50-year-old Curtis Edwin Anderson was cited and released driving while intoxicated, driving without a license, driving without insurance and violating conditions of release in the 8700 block of Teal Street. The vehicle he was driving was impounded.

At 12:14 a.m. on Saturday, JPD investigated a failure to stop on the 3200 block of Egan Drive.

At 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, 31-year-old Ivette Perez was arrested for driving under the influence and refusal in the 1300 block of Egan Drive and taken to LCCC. The vehicle she was driving was impounded. Alcohol was a factor.

At 2:26 a.m. on Sunday, 23-year-old Cora Sohn was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Marine Way and taken to LCCC. The vehicle she was driving was impounded. Alcohol was a factor.

Drug activity

At 2:03 p.m. on Friday, JPD investigated a report of drugs.

Domestic dispute

At 6:33 p.m. on Thursday, a 41-year-old woman was arrested for domestic violence- criminal mischief and taken to LCCC.

At 7:56 p.m. on Saturday, JPD responded to a report of a physical altercation between a 13-year-old boy and a 33-year-old man.

Motor vehicle crash

At 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, a 52-year-old woman driving a 2014 Chevy and a 78-year-old woman driving a 2012 Dodge were involved in an accident in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway. No injuries were reported.

Shoplift

At 1:51 p.m. on Thursday, 32-year-old Cody Louis Mun-Nuk Mercure was cited and released for larceny and trespass in the 8100 block of Glacier Highway.

Traffic stop

At 10:06 a.m. on Friday, 20-year-old Aiyanna Minnie R. E. Williams was cited and released for driving without a license and insurance in the 3300 block of Douglas Highway and the vehicle she was driving was impounded.

Trespassing

At 9:42 a.m. on Friday, a 51-year-old woman reported trespassers on private property on the 6000 block of Montgomery Street.

Warrant arrest

At 1:20 p.m. on Thursday, 43-year-old Matthew Thomas Weber was arrested on an Alaska State Troopers warrant in the 6500 block of Glacier Highway and taken to LCCC.

At 4:28 p.m. on Thursday, 38-year-old Russell Bullock was arrested for a JPD warrant in the 9400 block of La Perouse Avenue and taken to LCCC.

At 2:28 p.m. on Thursday, 34-year-old Tori Tyler was arrested on a JPD warrant in the 2200 block of Trout Street and taken to LCCC.

At 10:15 a.m. on Friday, 39-year-old Brandi Jo Yatchmenoff was arrested on a JPD warrant in the 2400 block of Egan Drive and taken to LCCC.

At 1:59 p.m. on Friday, 31-year-old Ofa Ki Mataki Kivalu was arrested on JPD warrants on Sunny Point Way and taken to LCCC.

At 9 p.m. on Friday, 33-year-old Meagan Dayton and 33-year-old Nicholas Waterhouse were arrested on JPD warrants in the 3900 block of Industrial Boulevard and taken to LCCC.

At 11:35 p.m. on Friday, 63-year-old Lyle Nathen Brown was arrested on JPD warrants in the 700 block of Ninth Street and taken to LCCC.

At 7:42 a.m. on Saturday, 38-year-old Jeffrey Joseph Poitra was arrested on JPD warrants and also charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at the direction of a peace officer and resisting arrest in the 5700 block of Concrete Way.

The Juneau School Board recently announced the three finalists for the district’s superintendent position: Frank Hauser, Carlee Simon and Thom Peck. The district is hosting a public forum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 27 at Thunder Mountain High School for students, parents and staff to meet the three candidates.
