Police calls for Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018

Assault

• At 5:04 p.m. Friday, the Juneau Police Department responded to an assault with pepper spray at the Transit Center downtown. Alcohol was a factor. Investigation continues. A 36-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were sprayed, and both were taken to Bartlett Regional Hospital for decontamination. Other people were also there, but left on their own. Some were seen coughing.

• At 3:38 a.m. Saturday, JPD arrested Martin Concas-Michel, 23, in the 3400 block of Foster Avenue for third-degree assault and first-degree burglary. Alcohol was a factor.

Burglary

• At 3:54 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 3200 block of Pioneer Avenue to investigate the report of a burglary. Investigation continues.

• At 11:40 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the 3800 block of Riverside Drive to investigate the report of a burglary.

Conditions violation

• At 9:47 p.m. Saturday, JPD arrested Archie Hunt, 28, in the 200 block of Front Street for disorderly conduct and violating conditions of release. Alcohol was a factor.

Domestic violence

• At 11:41 p.m. Friday, JPD charged a 36-year-old man with violating his conditions of release in the Juneau area. JPD was unable to locate the man.

• At 8:07 p.m. Saturday, JPD arrested a 41-year-old man in the Juneau area for assault and criminal mischief. Alcohol was a factor. The man was taken to Lemon Creek Correctional Center.

Drug misconduct

• At 2:05 p.m. Friday, Juneau-based Alaska State Troopers found a 24-year-old Juneau man in a car at a Vintage Boulevard business. The man was on Department of Corrections supervision and was found with methamphetamine and related drug paraphernalia. Troopers forwarded charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance to the Juneau District Attorney’s Office. The man’s name has not yet been released to the public; names are usually released after charges are filed and accepted. In this case, charges have been referred and are under review.

• At 3:32 p.m. Friday, JPD conducted a confidential drug investigation in the Juneau area.

Medical transport

• At 2:10 p.m. Friday, JPD assisted with transporting a woman, 37, from the 1800 block of Shell Simmons Drive to BRH for a self-inflicted wound. Alcohol was a factor. The woman also reported an unrelated assault from Feb. 20.

Motor vehicle crash

• At 6:50 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 300 block of Whittier Street to investigate the report that a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the parking lot in the downtown area. The pedestrian, a 54-year-old man, was taken to BRH.

• At 12:20 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the 2900 block of Douglas Highway to investigate the report of a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported. Investigation continues. No citations have been issued yet.

Shoplift

• At 10:52 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the 8100 block of Glacier Highway to investigate a possible theft from Fred Meyer. Investigation continues.

Theft

• At 2:19 p.m. Friday, JPD responded to the 3000 block of Vintage Boulevard to investigate the report of a theft of a backpack. Investigation continues.

• At 10:13 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the 9000 block of Glacier Highway to investigate the report of a theft. Investigation continues.

• At 11:43 a.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the 3400 block of Foster Avenue to investigate the report of a theft. Investigation continues.

• At 8:59 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the 2500 block of Teslin Street to investigate the report of a theft. Investigation continues.

Trespassing

• At 7:34 p.m. Friday, JPD arrested 22-year-old Krystal Meachem and 27-year-old Pavel Bogatko in the 9100 block of Cinema Drive for one count each of disorderly conduct. Investigation continues.

• At 12:49 p.m. Saturday, JPD cited and released Alan Lee, 31, on Egan Drive for criminal trespass.

• At 8:03 p.m. Saturday, JPD responded to the 300 block of Seventh Street to investigate the report of trespass. Investigation continues.

• At 9:43 a.m. Sunday, JPD responded to the 8100 block of Glacier Highway to investigate the report of trespass at a local business.

Warrant arrest

• At 1:18 p.m. Friday, Juneau-based Alaska State Troopers arrested Michael Ryan Walker, 28, at a Dudley Street address for an outstanding parole arrest warrant. The original charge was first-degree burglary. Walker was taken to LCCC and held without bail.

• At 1:11 a.m. Sunday, JPD arrested Angelo Lerma, 22, in the 400 block of Fourth Street for an outstanding warrant. A truck was impounded.

Wildlife violation

• On Friday, Juneau-based Alaska Wildlife Troopers met the F/V Donna Ann as the boat was coming to the Alaska Glacier Seafoods dock to offload commercially taken Tanner crab. Troopers found that the skipper, Hoonah resident William Valer, had taken the crab more than 24 hours after the closure of the registration area. Valer, 55, was issued a strict liability citation in the Juneau District Court and has a mandatory court appearance.
