High fecal bacteria sample close Twin Lakes for swimming

High levels of unsafe bacteria in Twin Lakes is closing the recreational spot for swimming.

According to a release from the City and Borough of Juneau Park & Recreation Department, Twin Lakes is closed to swimmers until further notice due to a high fecal bacteria test sample. The department samples the water at Twin Lakes on a frequent basis and the results came back with a high count. Due to this, it is highly recommended that people and pets do not swim in the lakes.
