CBJ asks mariners to check boats

The City and Borough of Juneau Docks and Harbors department is asking vessel owners to re-check their vessels after rough weather this week.

Ensure bilge pumps are operating correctly, lines are secure and that your boat is not collecting rainwater.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a strong storm to arrive in Southeast Alaska on Thursday. The storm is already bringing seas of 30-40 feet to the central Gulf of Alaska.
