The Juneau-based carrier Alaska Seaplanes has acquired two Cessna Caravans and a Cessna 207. Alaska Seaplanes will now operate four Cessna Caravans as part of their fleet and be able to serve 11 destinations from Juneau.
The company is owned by former Wings of Alaska managers Mike Stedman and Ken Craford. In five years, they have increased the number of airplanes from a four airplane floatplane operation to what will be a 14 airplane wheel and float operation offering scheduled flights, charters and flightseeing. The company will be able to provide 67 seats to transport passengers and freight using wheeled and amphibious aircraft. Of those seats, 33 will be for float amphibious aircraft for destinations that have no runways.
