Storytelling events planned in Haines

Alaska Arts Confluence, a nonprofit that provides art education and cultural enrichment opportunities for residents and visitors of the Chilkat Valley, has announced two events for the coming weeks in Haines.

On Monday, Nov. 2, Haines historian and rhetorician Daniel Lee Henry will lead a storytelling workshop called “What’s Your Story” at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be offered. To register, contact the Alaska Arts Confluence at (907) 303-0222.

On Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m., another storytelling event called “River Talk” will be held at the Chilkat Center for the Arts. Sponsored by Lynn Canal Community Players with Alaska Arts Confluence, this event is also organized for the following Thursdays: Jan. 21, Feb. 18 and March 10. Open to all storytellers, it features seven stories of seven minutes each. Admission is $7. Refreshment concession and cash bar will be available. To tell a story, call (907) 303-0222.
