Steering Committee thanks community for donations to Riverbend’s playground

As previously reported in this newspaper, improvements valued at approximately $60,000 were made to the Riverbend Elementary School playground just prior to the start of the school year. This installation was due to a cooperative community effort over the past six months.

Recognizing a need for playground improvements at Riverbend, a steering committee from among the organizations listed below came together to fundraise, select and install new playground equipment. About 60 organizations and individuals contributed to this project. We couldn’t have done it without you!

On behalf of the steering committee, I would like to thank:

For donations of $1,000 or more: Juneau School District, Riverbend PTO, Hecla Charitable Foundation, Rotary District 5010, Juneau Rotary, Juneau-Gastineau Rotary, Glacier Valley Rotary, Alaska Marine Lines, Coogan Contruction, Aggpro, Jensen Yorba Lott, Exerplay, Juneau Empire, Elgee Rehfeld Mertz, John & Elizabeth Lanz, Valley Paint Center, GCI Communications, Pavitts

For donations of $250 – 999: AEL&P; MRV Architects; Jared Lee DDS, LLC; Northwind Architects; Filipino Community; State Farm.
