The National Park Service has selected the businesses that will provide exclusive tours in Glacier Bay beginning in the spring.
Five-year concession contracts were awarded to four businesses: Alaska Dream Cruises, American Cruise Lines, Inc., Un-Cruise Adventures and Lindblad Expeditions, Inc. Contracts will be effective Jan. 1, 2016.
The new contracts will implement changes to reduce wilderness impacts for off-vessel activities, and through a cost-recovery program will provide National Park Service rangers to be on board each vessel to “enhance the passenger experience,” according to a news release from the park.
