Reece Bleakley, 16, of Juneau, has been accepted and will attend Interlochen Arts Camp in Interlochen, Michigan, the world’s premier summer arts program for aspiring artists grades 3 through 12. Bleakley, the daughter of Keith and Teresa Bleakley, will study music with emphasis on the flute at the camp.

Bleakley, a 4.0 student who is also a standout on the cross country team, will be entering her junior year at Thunder Mountain High School this fall. Recently, Bleakley was named the winner of the Senior Division of the Juneau Symphony’s Youth Solo Competition, winning the opportunity to play her piece, Concerto in D Major by Boccherini, on the main stage with the Juneau Symphony during the 2018-2019 concert season.

Interlochen Arts Camp attracts students, faculty and staff from all 50 states and more than 40 countries. Approximately 2,500 student-artists learn from world-class instructors and produce hundreds of presentations each summer in dance, theater, creative writing, visual arts, music and film.
