Hannah Barril will wed John Childs at the Shrine of St. Therese on July 23, 2016.

The bride is the daughter of Nove Barril.

The groom is the son of Barb and Bill Childs.

The bride graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School. She earned her bachelor’s of science from the University of Oregon and her master’s of science from Lock Haven University.

The groom earned his bachelor’s of science and master’s of science from Rochester Institute of Technology.

By 1914 when this photo was taken, Juneau had developed into an established city. The Victorian era turreted Alaska Steam Laundry (built 1901) is seen on the left, while other buildings such as the Alaskan Hotel and Central Rooming House are on the right. The rooming house was reconstructed in the 1980s. It is now the Senate Mall. (Alaska State Library-P31-021).
