Aiding Women in Abuse and Rape Emergencies (AWARE Inc.) is deeply honored and grateful to Alaska Dames and Gents Consignment Shop, for their donation of over $1,850 to AWARE. Alaska Dames collects donations for AWARE on an ongoing basis; they sell bags of clothing for $2, and each time someone purchases a bag of clothing, the $2, or more, depending on the financial ability and generosity of the buyer, is designated for AWARE.
As a community agency working to end violence against women and children, violence which is 100 percent preventable, we know we cannot do it alone. We are blessed to live in a community where partners generously extend their gifts, their caring, so that survivors of intimate partner violence and child abuse can feel supported, not just by AWARE staff but by community members and businesses looking to serve a greater good.
