Letter: On my campaign for mayor

There have been so many misstatements and assumptions made about me during this campaign that I feel the need to set the record straight. First, I absolutely support the senior property tax exemption. I would oppose any attempt to repeal or change it. Second, I voted for a special election because I heard from many people who said they wanted the democratic process to work. I heard from many that they had voted for change when they voted for Greg Fisk and that change was not represented in the current situation. I also heard that 10 months was too long to wait for an election. For those reasons and those reasons only did I vote for a special election. I also want to make clear that while Kim Metcalfe supports my campaign, she does not speak for it. Her comments are hers and hers alone. I have worked to stay positive and present a clear message in this campaign. I hope Juneau voters will go to the polls on Tuesday.

Karen Crane,
