Free cab rides available on New Year’s Eve

Watch for the green flashing lights.

There’s a free way to make it safely to and from Juneau New Year’s Eve parties.

Safe Ride Home taxi program will offer a free pickup and drop-off to one of its partner destinations from 7-9 p.m. Monday. To reserve a ride, fill out a form found on Safe Ride’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SafeRideHomeJuneau/.

From 9 p.m.-3 a.m., Safe Ride will offer free cab rides home from its partner locations. Those in need of a ride can ask a bartender to call a cab or hail a cab with green flashing lights.

Partner locations include: Alaska Cache Liquor, Alaskan Hotel and Bar, Baranof Hotel, Duck Creek Market, Hangar on the Wharf, Imperial Bar, Louie’s Douglas Inn, Lucky Lady Pub, Moose Lodge 700, The Narrows, Red Dog Saloon, Rendezvous Bar, Squirez Bar, the Island Pub, Triangle Club Bar and Viking Lounge.
