• Those familiar and comfortable with online shopping have
a variety of Web sites from which to view and order from.
• Mail order catalogs are also an option, although most wedding
planners will agree that going straight to the source will save
time, money and energy. It may also spare a few headaches.
• Invitations prices vary from 50 cents each to as much as
$10 each depending on the ink, lettering, enclosures, size and style
of paper and where they are ordered from.
• Invitations should be ordered as soon as the wedding guest
list is final. If the wedding date falls around a holiday, or is
to be in a far-off destination, then guests should receive invitations
farther in advance. For local weddings, six to eight weeks is considered
sufficient notice.
• Ordering far in advance also will allow enough time for
the wedding invitations to be reprinted if an error should occur,
such as a misprinted date or misspelled name.
• Order 20 to 30 extra invitations to compensate for mistakes
or last minute additions to the guest list.
• Addresses should be handwritten on the envelopes and goofs
are inevitable, so be sure to order plenty of extra envelopes, as
well.
