Ski report

Eaglecrest Ski Area reported there would be "nice, smooth turning" on the groomed runs Saturday. Off the groomed area there is packed powder over a variable, irregular base. The snow depth at the lodge was 26 inches. There are about 63 inches of snow at the top.

The ski buses are running today. The tubing hill is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. today. Chairlifts run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Be sure to check to the trail conditions board at the lodge for updated conditions and trail opening information. Especially with early season conditions, skiers and riders need to be cautious: Watch for hazards marked and unmarked on and off the ski trails.
