Former Juneau resident Maggie M. James died Nov. 8, 2007, in Anchorage. She was 46.

A longtime resident in Anchorage, she was a housekeeper for an Anchorage hotel. She liked to take long bus rides in Anchorage. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping for her mother and going to garage sales.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lester James Sr.; brother, Lester James Jr.; great-grandparents, Robert and Nellie Hanson, and Charlie James; aunts, Violet Mayeda and Evangeline Sharclane; and uncle, Albert Hanson.

She is survived by her mother, Martha James, of Juneau; sister, Julie James, of Juneau; brothers, Adam James, of Juneau, and Robert James, of Anchorage; grandmother, Edna James, of Juneau; aunts, Virginia Hanson, of Juneau, and Bernice Johnson, of Hoonah; sons, Nicki and William James; and daughters, Selena, Norma and Barbara James. Her relatives are from Juneau, Hoonah, Kake, Angoon and Haines.

Services will be 5 p.m. today at Salvation Army Church in Juneau. Memorials may be sent to Salvation Army Church, 439 Willoughby Ave., Juneau, AK 99801.
