Native summit set for today in Juneau
JUNEAU - This year's Southeast Alaska Native summit kicks off today in Juneau.
Energy and the regional economy are the focus of the three-day event.
The summit kicks off at 8:15 a.m. at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall.
A reception is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Centennial Hall, with the rest of the event taking place at the brotherhood hall.
Percy Frisby with the Tlingit Haida Central Council says there are more than 150 participants ranging from federal and state agencies to private companies.
The event is open to the public.
