Hospital announces radiology upgrade

JUNEAU - In recognition of National Radiology Week, Bartlett Regional Hospital recently announced the completion of the upgrade to the Picture Archiving and Communication System in Diagnostic Imaging.

PACS enables images in digital formats - including S-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI - to be viewed within the hospital network and transferred to physician's offices and clinics in the future. Physicians will be able to retrieve images and make comparisons for improved patient care.

The Denali Commission provided $408,435 in matching funds. Bartlett Regional Hospital officially acknowledged the contribution at a recognition ceremony Monday at the Diagnostic Imaging Department in association with Bartlett's Open House.
