Southeast No. 1 seed Juneau-Douglas will face Northern Lights No. 2 seed Colony at 2 p.m. in the first round of the 2009 4A State Volleyball Tournament on Thursday at West Anchorage High School.
The winner will play the winner of Cook Inlet No. 1 seed Chugiak and Northern Lights No. 3 seed Soldotna for the right to advance to the finals.
In other first-round action, Cook Inlet No. 2 seed South Anchorage will take on Mid Alaska No. 1 West Valley, and Cook Inlet No. 3 Dimond will face Northern Lights No. 1 Palmer.
