Crimson Bear swimmers looking for a few more records

Juneau-Douglas swimmers past and present hold several spots on the state's all-time record board, where two current swimmers and two relay teams will look to improve ontheir times.

Cody Brunette holds the state record in the 200 freestyle (1:40.58) and the 100 butterfly (49.19), and Nick Rutecki sits fourth all-time in the 50 free (21.18). Brunette also is 12th all-time in the 100 back (53.52).

The 200 free relay team will look to improve on its time of 1:26.83 from last year, which is second-best all-time, and the 400 free relay team from 2008 is back to improve on it's seventh-best time of 3:17.53.

Also on the leaderboards are Melissa Bogert's 2007 time of 1:54.21 in the 200 free, good for seventh best all-time. Bogert also sits fourth in the 50 free (23.87), where Jesie Lewis holds the eighth best time (24.08). Bogert is third all-time in the 100 fly (56.15), while Sarah Bogert is fourth all-time in the 100 free (52.01), followed by Lewis' 52.30.

The 2007 JDHS girls' 200 medley relay team holds the state record (1:47.86), and the 1991 boys' 200 medley relay sits third (1:37.88).

Kristen Jones is fourth all-time in the 500 free (5:05.50), and the girls' 200 free relay time from 2006 is third-best all-time (1:37.90), and the girls' 2007 400 free relay time of 3:35.62 isthird best.

In the boys' 200 individual medley, Scott Peterson has the second-best time of 1:55.23, with Paul Hughes checking in eighth (1:56.59). Kyle O'Brien is second all-time in the 200 free (1:41.17), Ole Shelton 10th in the 100 fly (52.08) and O'Brien is 10th in the 100 free (47.13).

O'Brien is ninth all-time in the 500 free (4:44.08), Peterson is second-best all-time in the 100 back (52.04), Hughes fourth best in the 100 breaststroke (58.10).
