ANCHORAGE - The Anchorage School Board has approved the district's first school-based health clinic.
Board members have given the OK for the clinic at Clark Middle School.
The clinic will offer periodic sports physicals when it opens in January. Services are scheduled to be expanded by August.
Officials say it's intended to make it easier for students to receive treatment for minor health problems. The plan is for the clinic to be free for students as it will be staffed by volunteer medical professionals.
