ANCHORAGE - The Alaska Earthquake Information Center reported a trio of small quakes has rattled Alaska's Aleutian Islands.
The last of the three quakes hit around 11:30 p.m. Friday night in the Near Islands region with a preliminary magnitude of 5.0 and a depth of about 31 miles. The quake was felt about 20 miles away in Shemya but the AEIC reported no damage.
The first quake hit shortly after 9 p.m. and had a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 and a depth of about five miles and the second quake hit an hour later with a magnitude of 4.3. Both were located in the Rat Island region of the Aleutian's.
