Coast Guard redeploys for crabbing season

KODIAK - The Coast Guard says it has redeployed some personnel and equipment to the Aleutian Islands to prepare for the crabbing season in the Bering Sea.

A Jayhawk helicopter from Kodiak is now at Cold Bay and will move to St. Paul in January, ready to respond in an emergency.

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game reported 62 vessels will be out for the Red King crab fishery out of a total of 93 that pre-registered.
