She was preceded in death by her husband; five infant children; son, Henry G. Katasse Jr.; granddaughters, Romona McVay and Valerie Katasse Stipe; and great-grandchild, Bradley Abbott-Smith.
She is survived by her two brothers, Oliver Rowan, of Craig, and Jimmy Rowan, of Klawock; birth children, Grace Larsen and her husband, Carl, of Sitka, Henrietta Haberman, of Juneau, Irving Katasse, Mary Katasse-Miller and her husband, Malcolm Miller, of Petersburg, Garfield Katasse, of Albuquerque, N.M., John Katasse and his wife, Carmen Mastromardo-Katasse, of Juneau, James Katasse, of Los Angeles, Charles Katasse, of Juneau, and Jeff Katasse, of Juneau; children she raised, Wilson Nicklie Jr., Janice Nicklie, Tim Katasse, Michelle Beltran and John Katasse Jr., all of Juneau, and Janet Armer, of Sitka; and 29 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Irving, Garfield, John, Jim, Chuck, Jeff, Tim, Kerry, Tim Jr., Howard and Wilbur Katasse; Wilson Sr. and Rosanna Nicklie; Wilson Carlos; Fred Beltran; Jim Sackett Jr.; Dale Kubik; Olaf, Adam, Andy and William Larsen; and Wyatt Ojala. Honorary pallbearers will be Malcolm Miller; Buzzy Dick; Clarence Jackson; Mike Jackson; John Rowan; Carl Larsen Sr.; Frank, John L., Angelo, Jaysen and Garfield Katasse Jr.; Anthony and Shyann Beltran; Michelle Beltran (Katasse); Dennis Sabadin; Bob Thomas; and Leroy Dabaluz.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Salvation Army. According to her wishes, the funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of God in Petersburg, with a celebration of life to follow at the Alaska Native Brotherhood Hall.
