Police cited a man, 63, on a larceny charge after responding at 12:02 p.m. Monday to a shoplifting call in the 200 block of Franklin Street. Police arrested him at 3:23 p.m. on an assault charge after responding to a weapons call in the same block. After the second incident, they lodged him at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center.
A cellular picture telephone was reported stolen at 8:59 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of Glacier Highway downtown.
Vandalism:
A side mirror was reported broken off a 2005 Ford pickup at 7:40 p.m. Monday at 10th and D streets downtown.
Vehicle accidents:
Police cited a boy, 16, on a charge of failing to yield after a stop at 7:04 a.m. Tuesday after a two-vehicle accident at Third and H streets in Douglas. The boy reportedly was driving a 2005 Ford. The other vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet, was driven by a boy, 17. Damage was estimated at $500 to each car.
Police cited a man, 50, on a charge of failing to maintain a safe distance in traffic at 7:14 a.m. Tuesday after an accident on outbound Egan Drive near Bartlett Regional Hospital. He was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. A 1986 Volvo station wagon also was involved in the accident. Damage was estimated at $1,500 to the Jeep and $2,000 to the Volvo.
Police cited a girl, 16, at 7:51 a.m. Tuesday on charges of violating his provisional license and negligent driving on inbound Egan Drive in the Twin Lakes area. The accident involved the 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier she was driving and a 1995 Dodge van driven by a man, 38. Damage was estimated at $1,000 to the Chevrolet and $500 to the Dodge.
