An article in Thursday's Empire about the release date for convicted child molester Jack Leck II, incarcerated at Juneau's state prison, requires clarification. The state parole board sent Leck back to prison through May 28, 2003, for a parole violation, but he could get out earlier. State law credits inmates for good behavior and requires mandatory release of model prisoners after they serve two-thirds of their sentences. If Leck does not break any prison rules, he will be eligible for mandatory release on Oct. 13, 2002.
