The Juneau Jambaars Under-13 boys soccer team stayed undefeated in the Alaska State Tournament in Fairbanks Wednesday by earning a 1-1 draw with the Cook Inlet Timberwolves Elite.

Max Smith converted a free kick from 35 yards out in the 69th minute to level the score.

Taylor Lehnhart made four saves in the draw while Andy Lawson, Colin Gozelski and Rhett Bennett each recorded shots on goal.

The first-place Jambaars face Phoenix 93 today.

Also, Peter Jorgensen scored a goal for the Jambaars in Tuesday's 6-2 win.

The Juneau Riptide Under-16 boys soccer team also remained unbeaten with a 2-0 win over the Kenai Peninsula Soccer Club Eagles Wednesday. Juneau improved to 2-0 overall with the win.

Dominc Smith scored twice off a pair of Sam Greely assists in the first half to provide all the offense Juneau needed.

The Riptide registerd seven shots on goal to the Eagles' five as Sam Post and Derick Stewart combined in goal to make four saves.

Smith opended the scoring in the 12th minute with a goal from 15 yards out. Smith followed that goal by heading in a Greely cross just before halftime.

Jesse West and Zach Farrington played solid defense to help preserve the shutout while Elliot Ford nearly made the score 3-0 in the second half when he smacked a shot off the crossbar.

The Riptide face fellow undefeated team, the Goldstriker 90s, today at 8 a.m.
