Flight 65 stopped in Ketchikan but skipped scheduled stops in Wrangell and Petersburg and continued directly to Juneau "as a precautionary measure," said Alaska Airlines spokeswoman Amanda Tobin. The airline decided to have mechanics in Juneau check out the possible problem.
Before landing, the Boeing 737-700 plan flew low over the airport so that ground crews could look for possible damage with binoculars, Tobin said. The plane carried 61 passengers, two pilots and three attendants, she said.
She reported no injuries. Capital City Fire and Rescue reported taking one person from the flight to Bartlett Regional Hospital for unspecified medical problems.
