Juneau baseball Minors, softball Majors ousted

Juneau 10, Sitka 4

Juneau got its first win on Saturday with a 10-4 victory over host Sitka in Game 3 of the Minors All-Star Baseball Tournament.

Owen Swanton pitched five innings of one-hit baseball, and had two RBIs at the plate. Erik Kelly also gave up just one hit in relief. Zeb Storie was 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs scored, while Steve Cole was 2-for-4.

A bases-clearing triple by Michael Cesar broke the game open. Cesar had four RBIs on the day.

Sitka 7, Juneau 1

Guy Bean pitched four innings, but errors proved costly as Sitka topped Juneau 7-1 on Friday. Zeb Storie got a hit and scored Juneau's only run. Jacob Dale, Chase Saviors and Steve Cole each had a hit.

Sitka 7, Juneau 3

Sitka was held to one hit, but was still able to outscore Juneau 7-3 on Thursday in the first game of of the Minors All-StarTournament.

Owen Swanton pitched 2 2-3 innings of no-hit baseball, with Erik Kelly and J.J. Mosher pitching in relief. Zeb Storie was 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Guy Bean and Noah Reighus-O'Brian both went1-for-2.

Juneau swept in three

Juneau's Major League Softball team is coming home after being swept in three games by NunakaValley.

Nunaka, out of District 1, will represent Alaska in the Western Regional Major Softball Tournament in Vancouver, Wash., after winning the best-of-five series.

Nunaka edged Juneau 6-5 in the first game before blanking Juneau 4-0, and 3-0 in the final two games,respectively.
