Lance Ibesate brings the heat against Ketchikan Friday night in the Junior League Baseball District 2 tournament at Adair-Kennedy Field. Ibesate threw four innings with seven strike outs and gave up one hit in the 11-1 win, which put Juneau into Sunday's 1 p.m. championship game.

Juneau Seniors struggle, Juniors host title game

SITKA - Sitka rolled to an 11-1 win over Juneau in the first game of the Southeast Senior League Baseball Tournament on Friday after Juneau stranded eight runners and gave up six walks.

Juneau starter James San Miguel gave up all 11 runs after walking six and hitting a batter in three innings of work.

The Juneau offense had its chances, but couldn't get timely hitting. The lone run came in the fourth after Ryan Doogan drew a walk, followed by a single by Alec Calloway and a run-scoring double by Tyler Mickelson to score Doogan.

Juneau, now 0-1 in the round-robbin tournament, will face Ketchikan at 3 p.m. today, and will play again at 6 p.m. on Monday.
