Nelson struck out six batters to pick up the pitching win.

Alaska ODP competes in Oregon

The Alaska '93 Olympic Development Program won three of four games at the Region VI Olympic Development Program camp in McMinnville, Ore. Six members of the Juneau Soccer Club's Jambaars were part of the Alaska team.

On July 1, Alaska tied the Idaho ODP squad 1-1. Tre King-Dunbar scored off a cross from Juneau's Andy Lawson for Alaska's lone goal.

Later that day, Alaska fell to Nevada ODP 2-1.

Lawson put Alaska ahead 1-0 after a scoreless first half, but Nevada roared back to win the game.

Devin Bertholl and Nathan Fosket, both members of the Juneau Jambaars, played defense in both games.

On June 30, Bertholl and Fosket played the full game as defenders while Lawson scored the game's lone goal in a 1-0 win over Hawaii.

Later on June 30, Alaska pounded Wyoming 5-0.

Lawson scored a pair of goals for Alaska.
