Amber Jean Michel, whose Tlingit name is Sga'toot, from the Tin.aa Hit (Copper House) of the Kiks.adi (Frog Clan), and the daughter of Andrea Ebona-Michel of Juneau, has been selected to be a Cadet-Intern on the Alaska Marine Highway system for this summer. Amber has just finished her third year at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. She is an Honors 4.0 Cadet, having received the Cadet of the Year Award in her first year and the Admirals Gold Star Achievement Award for the last two years. Amber will be returning to the Academy in September to finish her final year. She intends to return to Alaska upon graduation next June.

Brice Alan Habeger, of Juneau, graduated on May 17 from Columbia College Chicago with a bachelor's degree in film and video.
